Most people don't realize the peace that animals provide us. That they are actually here serving and rescuing us.  For we are a species on this planet that has forgotten the balance of life.

Our animals, especially our domestic ones,  actually bring us home to love. Where we discover the threshold for change lives in remembering how to dance with life. If we only lived like they do... in the moment with a resilient and sustaining joy for just being alive.

In this episode we look at their undaunted spirits and explore their messages to humanity. Our animals are desperately trying to communicate with us. They're our partners on the journey to return to innocence.

Only a grateful heart can we really see them as the angels they are. Leading us in a spiritual awakening to rise from the illusions in this world.

Season 4 EP12 — Our Animals Show Us The Way

Hello, I’m your Host Riverann. And this is Heart Sense. A podcast for aligning, strengthening, and opening our hearts to a frequency of love that heals ourselves and our planet. Thank you for being here.

I think we’re all searching for more peace in our lives…especially things that calm the mind, body, and emotions. I was recently introduced to something that surprised me how effective it was for quieting my nervous system. It’s You tube’s Dog TV. As I previewed the channel. I found myself immersed in the playful behavior, inquisitive faces, and the joy I felt from the dogs interactions with nature and one another.

I was literally moved into a trance of relaxation. And I said to my sweet boy Apache, this is going to be good for both of us. Observing the innocence and spirit of each canine, I was overcome with a wave of tranquil bliss that immediately uplifted me.

This episode will focus on on what our domestic animals bring to our lives physically, emotionally, and spiritually. And the messages they’re modeling  in an attempt to bring us back into balance. Because if you’ve noticed their presence and behavior is often an immediate remedy to what ails us.

Animals live moment by moment unconcerned about the future, unless they feel you’re leaving them. And I’m of the opinion that’s because their one of our guardian angels.

Most explore their surroundings with fearless curiosity. They model the importance of play, freedom, and interacting with life innocently while keenly listen to everything around them. We’ve all seen videos where an animal senses the energy of a harmful event, much before we know about it. This inner awareness is an alarm system designed to keep their loved ones safe. Much like our intuition is for us.

By nature their bodies are always closes to the earth. Which serves to ground them and keep their immune systems functioning well. Something people don’t do often enough. Our animals are always reminding us to be in the present. And regardless of how we’re feeling, they provide an unconditional source of love, protection, and pure sweetness for our hearts.

Now my favorite domestic animal is a dog. So I have have more knowledge and insight into canines than others. I’ve trained them and spent a lifetime observing and tuning in to their communication with us. However I love all animals and value every interaction them.

By the way, if you’re interested in better communication with your pet. Know they speak to us with visual connections to activities. Notice sometime how your animal moves to a different location prior to your direction. They’re picking up on your thoughts…

They feel us thinking about leaving the house, having a meal, or coming home. And then they begin making associations to these events, like putting on your shoes, going into the kitchen, or a ride in the car. So if you start holding visual thoughts in your mind for them you may find it’s easier to understand what they want. As you practice using pictures to send messages... You’ll establish an intuitive connection. It takes practice, but it’s very rewarding.

Dogs seldom avoid other canines unless they’ve experienced trauma. It’s like they simply see another dog. An interesting phenomenon is when large dogs behave like lapdogs, and small ones like they’re giants? I don’t sense it’s an inferiority or superiority complex. But rather visual lessons for us. Perhaps illustrating that allowing  ourselves to be vulnerable opens us to love. Or tapping into personal identity is empowering.

I’ve found that every dog has a special personality. And their variety of natural skills has led us to appreciate different breeds. Although they were first introduced in specific regions around the world, most are loved across cultures. The uniqueness of each animal, seems to be its calling card for our attraction to them. We remain curious and sometimes fascinated about these distinctions.

So why do people take issue with human differences? Why has diversity become a problem for many, and how did we get here? Aren’t we one species recognizing each other in the same group?

Trying to make sense of this anomaly I came up with a funny but intriguing question. Something I don’t think anyone has ever thought of, much less asked. I looked into the eyes of my black faced Sheltie and said, “Are you black?” The very nature of this question had me laughing at myself. And wondering why humans make this distinction with one another, when it really doesn’t define us!

However this question posed the blatant hypocrisy in human behavior. Why isn’t everyone fascinated, if not in awe of our beautiful differences? Diversity is one of humanity’s strengths and powerful tool for evolution. So why deny or devalue the innate gifts of others?

Children are born innocent without any judgements. But they’re programmed to separate themselves from others and become afraid instead of curious about different cultures? I’m quite sure this isn’t the path humans were destined to take. But it’s led humanity into most of the conflict and suffering on this planet.

Instead of using our gifts to expand and connect our worlds, which would  improve our lives. We somehow were persuaded to be afraid or affected, by what we don’t know or understand. I find that when anyone stands in a puddle of fear, they lose control over feelings, perceptions, responses, and opportunities to grow.

Have you ever wondered what a world without mirrors might look like in relationship to human behavior? If we could only see each another and not ourselves; kindness and compassion might rule our lives. Equality might have roots in social structures. And perhaps our response would be to embrace connection without fear.

I seriously doubt people would wear the masks we see today to hide inappropriate behavior. The tendency instead might be to open the heart and explore our world with one another in reverence and tenderness. Because nakedness provides a vulnerability, - which sources love for comfort. And love without conditions, facilitates deep connection.

I think our relationships to our domestic animals is more than just  personal need for companionship. I see it as an opportunity to receive lessons not otherwise readily available in our lives. I’ve said before, we are not rescuing these animals. They are here giving their lives to serve us with everything we need. Their empaths, taking on our pain, and accompanying us on a journey to heal ourselves from trauma we’ve created as a species.

So when I watch a dog, a horse or a deer running… A cow, a fox or goat jumping… or any animal playfully enjoying their bodies and environments.

I wonder when we forgot how to play in this resilient energy of life that returns us to joy.

How did we forget who we are and become bystanders, giving up our freedom of expression? I sense that it may have been when people began to immerse themselves in drama, with an insatiable desire for more than enough. Which can be quite addicting. Especially if a person isn’t fully embracing and embodying their sacred self.

When we return home to ourselves, our animals remind us of joy. They show us the pathway doesn’t have to be difficult. We simply have to choose it. And they do this everyday — regardless of any obstacles they face. Always ready to return to trust with humans even when we betray them.

So I wonder, how do we reframe our lives to create greater flexibility that will allow us to move out of restriction, and choose our realities? My formula, is subscribing to a life with as much joy and gratitude as possible. And any animal we connect with, will gladly guide us there every time we meet.

So I make sure I engage everyday, in playful activity and conversations with my Sheltie, Apache. We begin our mornings with a love fest as I massage his whole body. We hug each other with appreciation for the presence we share in each other’s lives. I prioritize his desires to be in places where he can enjoy his body, the environment, and interactions with others.

The gift is, it brings me back into balance with life and my desire for joy. So I take time to find it in the smallest things... like the change of seasons, or stranger’s smile. A woman once said to me. Let nothing get in the way of your joy. Yes, sometimes we are traumatized to the point of being feeling it doesn’t exist anymore. But a moment of unconditional love and affection from a dog or our best buddy; will always bring us back into the safety and comfort of the heart. And in that moment we reconnect to life and joy.

As I watched YouTube’s Dog channel. I was immediately struck by how simple this recipe is, when we choose it. Dogs are a part of our hearts and they constantly lead us there. They are physical messengers reminding us to be kind, compassionate, accepting, and forgiving. No wonder someone once wrote, “I will send them without wings so no one suspects they are angels.”

If you’ve chosen to have a dog in your life who never leaves you unattended. Or any other animal you’ve committed to a relationship with. Know they are a guide for you. They chose you and no other to balance the outer world with your inner world. Offering a refuge from darkness, and a sense of peace when life appears senseless. Animals bring in an unconditional love that’s rare to find among people.

Commit to the spiritual healing you can accomplish on your journey together. They aren’t simply another species sharing this planet with us. They’re our physical angels devoted to being mirrors in our life. Mirrors designed to go deeper than illusions that focus on the ego’s desires.

And when they depart this earth plane. Open your heart to the next one who’s come in specifically for you. From experience I can assure you, there is another, and another, who will show up to continue the journey to recovering your self governance.

In my infant photos and throughout my life, there has always been a dog.

It’s a choice I must have known would serve me like nothing else in life. And I wouldn’t be without them, or any other animal I have the privilege of having an encounter with.

For some of you, physical adoption may be impossible given your home situation. In which case I recommend going to a dog park, volunteering at a shelter, or spending time with your friends’ animals. If none of these are possible, then go into nature and spend time observing and connecting energetically with what ever animals you see.

The minimum experience you will take home is peace. However it’s quite possible the Universe will afford you more gifts, once you agree to invite animals into your life.

And finally, if you’re physically unable to go to them, watch a dog channel, or animals interacting in a video on a social media platform. I find I laugh more watching videos of animals, than from anything else. And laughter is a great healer, that changes and refocuses our attention on the positive. Let’s take the role of our animals seriously, protect and honor them. For they truly are angels among us!
